There are few, if any, better tail presses/five-ohs in snowboarding than the one Darrell Mathes possesses. His go-to move was the highlight of this soggy session at a high school in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb of Eagan. It was early season and snow was scarce. Minnesota got a storm that produced just enough to spark a quick trip, pre-Christmas trip for Mack Dawg Production's DOUBLE DECADE. Temperatures warmed quicker than expected and our short trip was looking to be cut even shorter. We decided to stay up all night and get whatever we could done before the rain that was forecasted did away with what limited snow there was. Just as we set this spot up it began to drizzle around 3am, and it was a full panic to get one last shot for the trip. Gear was soaked, my flashes were firing sporadically if at all. Somehow everything synced and this shot was had before we called it. Even though we'd be leaving early, the feeling of having quality shots in the bag before Christmas always makes it easier to enjoy time at home over the holidays when you know it's snowing somewhere.
