For the Nike NEVER NOT movie we traveled to Moscow to hit street spots with Halldor, Sage and Ethan Morgan. It was a dream to travel to the former Soviet Union and see first hand if life in Russia looked anything like the propaganda we'd been fed in the west. Spoiler alert: it did not. Moscow rules, one of the best cities I've ever visited -- great people, food, architecture and most of all snowboard spots. A highlight of the trip was spending the day at this community hockey rink in the middle of the city. There was a giant rail leading up to really nothing, a pillar or stage, it didn't make any sense. But it was a zero-bust spot and had potential for a few tricks for everyone. The session was long and after a while I went looking for alternate angles having bagged plenty from more obvious spots. This pulled back photo of Halldor with the hockey action going down in the foreground really captured the spirit of the day and inhabitants of this city that embrace winter living. I'm not sure if future crews will be looking to go to Moscow, or if they'll be welcomed, but I hope differences can be settled sooner than later and that opportunity is an option.
