Sapporo Japan might be the biggest tease in all the world for street spots. Everywhere you look is a perfect feature, something so good you might have a hard time even dreaming it up. The problem is that it's by far the biggest bust of any city I've shot snowboarding in. After getting kicked out of numerous spots and narrowly avoiding a trip to jail, we somehow came up on this abandoned school in the neighborhood of our AirBnB rental. I'm not sure how this location flew under the radar of the authorities, but we were able to have a couple of days worth of sessions on the grounds. Johnnie Paxson's wallride was the highlight of the time spent there. In classic Paxson style, he was the only one to notice this feature let alone considered setting it up. You couldn't have asked for a more photogenic spot, with building painted shades of yellow/orange. When the sun popped out mid-way through the session it took things to a whole new level. This was shot in 2012 and the video clip was featured in the Nike movie "Never Not" the following year.
