When looking for street spots it always makes most sense to search the neighborhoods built on hills. Most features are found around buildings - schools, business, parking garages, etc.... So I'm not sure if it was by accident that we rolled up on this sizable snow pile that had been pushed up by the plow in the thick of neighborhood with nothing but houses around. Piles like this obviously aren't uncommon, but made this one such a find is that was set up at the bottom of a hill and had a hill immediately after it. It was literally the perfect jump, minus the boulders and random garbage in the landing. Marc Frank Montoya was living in Salt Lake City at the time, but grew up in Denver and was all about this spot and the potential of dipping into his his backcountry bag in this environment. Kurt Wastell and MFM put on a clinic on this thing and it was one of the more memorable sessions from that season, and many to come. I can only imagine what it was like for any neighbors that happened to be home that day and looking out the window and randomly see snowboarding at this level fly by.
