This era, around 2008, was the first use of the winch in street snowboarding, and really opened up the possibilities. One of the most creative uses of this gift of unlimited speed was this shot masterminded by Seth Huot. A small transition built up to this concrete wall that was used for kids games during the week, made a perfect spot for games played by those who are much older, but still kids at heart. The pivot to fakie is a staple of skateboarding, but not one that I've ever really seen properly imagined on a snowboard before. The abundance of flat ground, without a hill in site, is an unfamiliar look for a snowboarding photo, which to me just adds to the intrigue for an unconventional trick. One of my favorite shots to this day.
